In our Sixth Form we continue the school's aims of high academic achievement and helping every student to develop to their full potential. Our students are taught by subject specialists and the vast majority achieve grades A*, A and B at A Level. We have an excellent record of entry into the best courses and universities for higher education. The school takes individual advice and guidance for Sixth Form options very seriously. Sixth Form applicants need to consider their options wisely to ensure they are choosing a set of subjects that will engage them and that will play to their strengths. The school will take into consideration an applicant's overall profile, including their GCSE results, before agreeing to them studying any particular set of subjects. We aim to help our students decide wisely, both about their participation in Sixth Form life and for their future careers and education. Sixth Form Entry and ‘post-results’ applications 2022

Our initial Sixth Form admissions round for September 2022 has now closed, and all conditional offers have been made. As well as our initial round of applications, we also welcome applications to join our Sixth Form once this year’s GCSE results have been published. For these ‘post-results’ applications, all candidates are considered anew based on their final GCSE grades. The number of post-results places available will depend on our current offer-holders’ final grades and their decisions, so we cannot guarantee exactly how many places might become available.

To make a post-results application, candidates need to come to the school from 12.00 noon on GCSE results day (Thursday 25 August 2022), bringing their original copy of their final GCSE grades from their school. Their results sheet will need to be signed by a senior member of staff at their school such as a head of year, and should be stamped with the school stamp (likely to be available from their school's main admin office). Post-results applicants have from 12.00 noon on Thursday 25 August 2022 until 12.00 noon on Friday 26 August 2022 to bring in their GCSE results and make their applications.

Due to a recent change in our Determined Admissions Arrangements, we prioritise applications from Looked After Children/previously Looked After Children (i.e. those in care), students who have received Free School Meals, and students who have received Pupil Premium funding – please see points 99.1 and 99.2 in our Admissions Policy [click here for the Admissions Policy, or in the Important Documents below]. Any applicants who fulfil these criteria will need to bring documentary evidence with them when making their application, as well as their GCSE results.
