Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly-funded schools in England to raise the attainment and achievement of disadvantaged pupils, and close the gap between them and their peers. It is the school’s responsibility to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual students in their care.
Our aim is to ensure all PP students are given the support and opportunities to achieve highly, and experience the best all-round education in line with their non-PP counterparts and the school’s values of Community, Love of Learning and Character, irrespective of their background or the challenges they face. Our duty of care is to provide excellent teaching and learning in every subject, provide additional support through the provision of resources, equipment, trips and extra curriculum and offer individual pastoral and academic support.
The school receives funding for students who fall into the following categories:
- Students registered as eligible for free school meals, or eligible at any point in the past six years
- Students who are registered as a service child
- looked after children (LAC), or students who have been adopted from care
