Year 7 History trip to Dover Castle
Taking full advantage of the sunshine, the Year 7s history day trip to Dover Castle was a warm success.
On Tuesday 16 May our Year 7 students went on a History trip to Dover Castle. They visited the living quarters in the medieval keep of Henry II, looked at how the castle has changed over time, walked around the battlements and investigated the network of medieval tunnels. The main focus of the trip was for Year 7 to use what they saw to plan how they would siege the castle, to see the different uses of the castle and to consider why the location of it was successful for medieval monarchs. They (of course) also enjoyed the delights of the gift shop and cafe! It was an excellent trip, full of learning about the historic site and spending time together as a year group. Many thanks to all of the staff who accompanied them, and to the History department for organising the trip.
