RAG Week is here

Raising and Giving Week – Mon 27 Feb to Fri 3 Mar

Led by our Deputy Head Girls for charity, Zeynep and Monica, and supported by the rest of the Head Girl Team and Ms Kilburn, this is always a highlight of the school calendar. This year we are raising money for our whole-school charity, United World Schools, with all the proceeds going to our link school, Chewaa School in Nepal. Situated in Sankhuwasabha, the school supports the indigenous Rai community, with 1,200 people in the area, 240 of them being of primary school age. We are their only direct partner school, so it is important for us to raise as much as we can during RAG week to support them, giving them the means to buy new resources and fund local teachers.

Events for the week include the Year 7 and 8 disco, a World Book Day ‘Fairytales and Stories’ themed non-uniform day on Wednesday 1 March, and returning favourites of whole-school Eliminate, Teachers’ University Challenge, staff v students benchball, and sales of t-shirts, doughnuts and pick & mix to keep everyone’s energy levels topped up.

Many parents will have already purchased a pre-paid RAG week token for £5, £10 or £20 on ParentMail, and payments can also be made in different ways:

  • £1 donation for non-uniform day can be made either in school by card reader (£1) or by donation on ParentMail, reference RAG2023 (any amount but minimum £1).
  • Payments for t-shirts, sweets, event entry, etc can be made in school by card reader or by using a pre-paid RAG week token.
  • Year 7 and 8 Disco tickets are on sale on ParentMail at £6, reference Year 7&8 RAG week Disco, with a deadline for payment of 2.00pm Wednesday 1 March.
  • Please contact the finance office if you have any difficulties in making payments.
