This took place on Sunday 23 January at St Matthew's, Surbiton
The Year 9 Tiffin Girls’ Choir was honoured to be chosen to sing at the Mayor of Kingston’s Civic Service held at St Matthew’s Church in Surbiton on Sunday 23 January. The service was attended by the Bishop of Kingston, the Mayors and Mayoresses from neighbouring boroughs and representatives from many local organisations and three other local schools (Hollyfield, Shrewsbury House and St Matthew’s). It paid tribute to the many people in the community who gave up their time to help throughout the pandemic and remembered those whom we have lost. Year 13 soloist, Cleo, performed Bach’s ‘Bist du bei Mir’ (‘If thou be near), as candles were lit . The Year 9 Choir performed John Rutter’s anthem, ‘For the beauty of the earth’. The Mayor of Kingston thanked them all for their beautiful performance in this special service. They did themselves and the school proud.
