We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Kingston and her macebearer, Brian Sullivan, to the school on Thursday 28 April to give an assembly to Year 7. Councillor Sushila Abraham explained her duties and role as Mayor and promoted her Mobile Mop-up campaign to recycle old phones and electronic devices which the school is supporting. The students also learned about the fascinating history of the Mayor’s 400 year old Great Mace; one of the oldest working maces in London.
The Tiffin Girls’ School logo, bearing the three salmon represented on Kingston upon Thames’ coat of arms, is a visual reminder of our connection to the borough and wider community.
