Our colour run was a huge success.
“It was such good fun, please may we do it again!” wrote one of the participants after the colour run on Thursday 21 April; a view that seemed to be held by everyone who took part in the fundraising event for the sports centre. After a brief warm up in the middle of the front field, the students made their way to get colourful! The mission was to go 10 times around the 200 metre track whilst being bombarded with ‘Holi dye’ colour powder in all the colours of the rainbow (and their house colours) as they went. Some ran around the track – the fastest runners were Lucy (Year 7) and Sophia (Year 13) - while others went in three-legged pairs or even backwards on all fours in the crab position! However they made their way around, they completed the course looking much brighter and more colourful than when they started. At the end, the students were given individual sachets of colour powder in their house colour and gathered together in the middle of the field to throw their powder into the air in one amazing explosion of colour. It was a wonderfully vibrant and happy event and raised over £250 for the ‘Fit for the Future’ campaign for the Sports Centre.
