Attendance
The government has stated that all students are expected to return to school in September. Any student who has symptoms of coronavirus should not attend school. Families should follow government guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance
Travel
Students should walk or cycle to school where possible. Parents should be aware of the government guidance for use of public transport, which includes the compulsory use of face coverings: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-safer-travel-guidance-for-passengers
Students who are using public transport should allow sufficient time for their journey, taking into account the limited capacity of trains and buses. Students are encouraged to walk to and from school from Kingston rather than waiting for a bus.
Students will be expected to wear full uniform.
Students are allowed to wear face coverings if they choose. It is important to review the World Health Organisation advice on how to do this safely. https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/advice-for-public/when-and-how-to-use-masks
Catering
- There will be no breakfast provision in the canteen in the morning, and students will not be able to go to the canteen at that time.
- There will be a very limited choice of hot food available at recess and lunchtime.
- There will be no salad bar.
- Sandwiches and other cold food will continue to be available.
- There will be no hot food available in the first full week of term, 7 – 11 September.
- Students should ensure that they bring a water bottle to school. We anticipate that they will be able to access the school water fountains to refill them, but will update students should regulations change. Tiffin water bottles will be available for purchase from the canteen.
